I still have a thing for predominantly white dining spaces and one of my favorite magazines, VTWonen , shows plenty of them month after month. I think I’ve pinned at least 20 of their rooms on my Pinterest boards ! I met the editor-in-chief this summer and felt a bit like a fan girl before the celebrity she so much admires, it was a real highlight for me. VTWonen is my favorite magazine at the moment and I dream to someday have my home in it when it’s finished and even though I cannot understand a lot of Dutch (though my German studies have helped me oddly enough!) I still find it so forward and fresh. Check out these dining rooms though…Some are a little too white for even my taste, but I do love the sheer pureness of them all, don’t you? They seem so clean and refreshing

Hello friends, it’s me Leslie and I’m here today to bring you a very merry holiday edition of Color Me Pretty . For me, it’s all about apple green, red and aqua at the moment because it feels fresh and joyous. What do you think of this palette? Here’s how my inspiration began. First, I got really inspired by an old photo I found of my aunt at the Calgary Stampede circa 1970.

Happy Friday friends! I’m so glad that the weekend is here, especially since I have fun plans to be with friends, shop, relax, bake and decorate my house. What’s not to love about a weekend like that!? I thought today I’d share my Anthropologie wish list with you since so many liked my Etsy art round up and West Elm list so much.

Hello everyone! I was in Berlin again and now that I’m back home I want to share some highlights! This time, I taught a gift wrapping class for Anthropologie at the amazing Barcomi’s cafe where they had a “pop up cafe” this week to celebrate the launch of their new German online shop. I was able to chat briefly with owner, author and baking queen Cynthia Barcomi (a highlight!) before I got started and then, my students arrived and we made pretty and inspiring gift packaging and tags using torn fabric, masking tape, decorative papers, maps, paper punches, rubber stamps, cocktail napkins, lace, yarn, etc. Below is a photo of me with my dear students (I’m in the center in green). There were 8 of us, but a few others joined in like my friend Sandra Juto and fashion blogger Camilla along with Jana and Massimiliano, so there were 13 of us total and it was such a fun bunch! On the table you can see all of the things that we made.

I always feel a surge of energy whenever I visit the website of Danish designer Rie Elise Larsen . Her work fills me with ideas and I always feel more creative whenever I visit her site for a browse. It’s fun to see what she’s up to and her current collection is just gorgeous. I love the zing of fresh green, neon pink, hot orange and the other crisp brights

Taking jam sessions to another level is the idea of recycling discarded, useless Compact Disks as weights for dumbbells. Before you laugh off the idea, here is something we can consider…many women don’t use heavy weights for their workouts, and an average CD weighs about .15 grams. Combining a handful at each end, it does put the CDs to good use! If nothing else, I’m impressed with the out-of-the-box thinking. Totally rad! I will forever have a place in my heart for Liberty, not only because I’ve loved their fabrics for years and years, but because they threw me a splendid book launch party in their gorgeous store back in April which is one big way to launch your first book! But this post isn’t about that, it’s about another book – their upcoming title, The Liberty Book of Home Sewing , and I can’t wait to sink my teeth into it! Written and produced by the fabulous Lucinda Ganderton (I own several of her books) and published by Quadrille Publishing — this title has me quite excited! (UK jacket shown above.) Sure, Liberty-inspired books have been done before, my most recent favorite being by French author Alice Marceau called En toute Liberty (also available in German under the title Ganz In Liberty – you can see my copy here ), but I love seeing a more quirky spin on Liberty prints and this book will feature plenty of them! “The book is divided into three chapters – Essential, Organisation and Luxury – and contains projects ranging from practical fold-up shopping bags to elegant cushions, through handy display boards and book slipcovers to indulgent kimonos, beanbags and throws. Variations and alternatives are included for many of the projects so that the core collection is in fact an inexhaustible resource of ideas.” (US jacket shown above .) And… if you love the idea of sewing + Liberty fabrics, then why not combine the two and take their Frilly Pinny class at Liberty in London on either September 18th or the 25th with sewing instructor Nicole Wilson who will show you how to create your very own apron (frilly pinny) using Liberty fabrics and the design from the upcoming book! Fun! Just added this one to my wishlist! (images: quadrille publishing) Please note: daily news and quicklinks are excluded from the RSS feed. Get the scoop on the latest finds directly on decor8 !
