I was thinking that it would be fun to share 8 Great Living Rooms and detail why because it may inspire some of your own decorating ideas over the weekend. Please note that in each of the photos below I’ve actually listed what about each of these looks I love since in some cases, the entire room itself isn’t one I would copy piece-by-piece but there are certain elements about it that I like. Okay let’s go! Ready?

8 Great Living Rooms & Why They Work

Commonly used disposable diapers are a huge sustainability problem in the United States. Even before they reach landfills, the energy and resources used in their production is very intensive. On top of that, the economic burden of disposable diapers on low income families is extremely high. The solution?

Listen to designer Jean-michel Bonnemoy and he’ll have you believe traditional camera form factors were dictated by the need to hold a roll of film in the back. Now that we’re all digital, why are still maintaining that archaism? He maintains the new form factor should be a cylinder – ergonomically better for the hand. The D-CAN concept significantly reduces volume while still providing all the finite controls professional photographers are used to. Hit the jump for the “specs”

This handmade backdrop used at a wedding I found over at Green Wedding Shoes made my heart positively leap. This is stunning. I don’t know how it was made, I thought at first cupcake wrappers but I don’t see any ruffled edges so perhaps something else… Either way, I love it and here is the link to the site where I found it in case you want to research more… I’d normally do that for you but today I’m in a rush and cannot. Here is the link where I found these stunning images taken by Annie McElwain Photography . (images: annie mcelwain photography) Please note: daily news and quicklinks are excluded from the RSS feed

I spotted Amy Borrell’s work on Pinterest thanks to lovely Leslie who pins gorgeous things to her boards – you should totally follow her ! I find so many pretty things from Leslie, she has a really great eye… I’m using Pinterest under decor8 , I just pinned a bunch of delightful edibles to my Yummy Things folder that you may like (to eat). I’m not a Pinterest addict yet though, but that could change very soon as I begin traveling over the next four weeks. When I’m on the road I have a bit more leisure time than I do in the office to be a pin-natic. :) But I digress… The point of this post is to spotlight the lovely illustrative work of Amy Borrell . If you like what you see above, Amy has an online shop so you can own many of these as prints.

I know I’m not the only one who’s paid the price for being lazy about hanging up my clothes! I have carelessly stretched out the necks of my shirts because I’d rather force a rigid hanger through the neck rather than come up the bottom. The Pinch hanger is a efficient and easy solution to my problem. Made of a flexible Polypropylene and Elastomer mix, the user only has to pinch the arms together and slide the hanger into place. Speed up the process while preserving your threads! Designer: Jaineel Shah – Yanko Design Timeless Designs – Explore wonderful concepts from around the world! Odorico Pordenone is a delightful caravan that expands its seams to accommodate you and your folks quite comfortably. For a person who is never intimidated by the size of the car that I am driving, a bulky trailer somehow manages to unnerve me. Looking into this idea’s perfect fusion of design, technological and architectural approach, I think this one has nailed it good. Hello everyone! How was your weekend? I hope it was a good one. I got stranded in Holland due to the weather but made the best out of it and as a result, made some new friends and got to meet up with Eline Pellinkhof in her home city of Haarlem AND I was able to see a shop I’ve longed to see for several years now called Ottomania . It was such a great experience and I’m so glad that bad weather brought me to Haarlem though the travel bit was just horrible. I’m home now and made a little “me” time this morning as a result of the stressful journey back by train (a 4 hour trip took 17 hours and two days of freezing on platforms trying to go east into Germany) so a salon visit made everything right again

Erascan is a whiteboard eraser that scans the written matter on the board while erasing and saves it onto an inbuilt memory chip. The idea is to keep a digital copy of the drawings or notes handy for future reference. The device is programmed to automatically recognize handwriting, identify emails and web URLs. What’s more, it can share the saved data via email wirelessly! The designers explain, “The design consists of an LCD screen to show the scanned information during the erasing process
